1293: NFU / Agri-Skills Apprenticeship Survey
This paper summarises the report about the ‘NFU / Agri-Skills Apprenticeship Survey Results 2011’
Year of Publication2011
The results show an encouraging awareness of apprenticeships. The majority of respondents believed that an apprentice will bring young people into agriculture; is the best way to train the workforce of the future and ensures their own workforce has the right skills. Perceived barriers may not be real as colleges and training providers can help with paperwork and extra employment law and health and safety requirements should not be onerous. Better communication is needed to get these points across.
