Repair and maintenance contracts for small construction projects
A study investigating the use of a letter of exchange or a more formal contract for minor building works or repair and maintenance, between rural chartered surveyors and their clients.

More formal contracts may be deemed to be better than letters because of the possibility of legal action. However, in this study, the rural chartered surveyors generally used letters of exchange with their own clauses when setting up small construction contracts.
