Minerals Policy Statement 1 (MPS1), Planning and Minerals provides advice and guidance for the minerals industry, Regional Planning Bodies and Mineral Planning Authorities for the preparation of local development documents. This briefing is taken from the Practice Guide, which sets out how the policies in the statement might best be implemented. Not summarised here, the Practice Guide also includes an evaluation of supply and demand for aggregates, brick clay, natural building and roofing stone and onshore oil and gas.
