1619: Agricultural wages board consultation

This paper is summarised from the Defra Consultation on the Future of the Agricultural Wages Board for England and Wales, and Agricultural Wages Committees and Agricultural Dwelling House Advisory Committees in England

Year of Publication2012

The Government believes that the abolition of the Agricultural Wages Board and hence the agricultural minimum wage regime will simplify employment legislation and remove regulatory and administrative burdens from agricultural and horticultural businesses. Given their reduced and limited functions it is difficult to justify the continued existence and public expense of the Agricultural Wages Committees and Agricultural Dwelling House Advisory Committees
