1403: Resourcing and training for the rural church: mapping the Experience of Contemporary Practitioners & Churchgoers
Arthur Rank Centre publication
Year of Publication2011
Many denominational structures are poor at supporting rural churches resulting, in some areas, in isolation from the wider church. More effective signposting and evaluation of resources and training and a library of good practice case studies are needed. Local denominational Rural Officers are crucial to enable effective rural ministry and they need more support. Local facilitators and trainers need to be identified. Rural provision during ministerial training is patchy. Training and resourcing of lay people in their rural communities is a priority identified across all denominations. The Arthur Rank Centre is working on further material to emerge from the report’s recommendations
