Liver fluke disease is costly to individual businesses and to the sheep industry. The model calculates the possible costs associated with all types of liver fluke disease in individual breeding-ewe flocks under different weather and grazing conditions and the likely benefits of types of flukicide medication. The hypothetical example provided highlights the costs and benefits of strategic use of a triclabendazole-based flukicide in a 500-ewe flock with 15% undrained grazing land. Information is provided on how to access the cost/benefit model and others online without charge.
