The effects of dietary zinc on dairy cow performance and health

A summary of the results of a farm study comparing the effects of supplementing dairy cow diets with zinc in an inorganic or an organic form.

Results of this study showed that supplementing dairy cows with an organic compared to an inorganic form of zinc, at recommended levels, increased milk yield. Other benefits of supplementing dairy cows with zinc were demonstrated.
