A milk line supplement for suckling piglets?
A study of the effects of using a liquid milk supplement for suckling piglets.
Year of Publication2009
Larger litter sizes in sows create competition for teat space which means that piglets may grow less well. The effects of a liquid milk supplement delivered through a milk line system which allows piglets continuous access were studied at Harper Adams University College. The study found that a milk line system can assist a well-managed pig unit to reduce piglet mortality and save costs.
