An account of the changes that one producer has made to make vegetable growing more ethical and environmentally friendly.
The mission of Barfoots farm in Sussex is to run a viable system which is sustainable, environmentally friendly and socially acceptable. Semi-exotic vegetables are grown using precision-farming techniques to minimise inputs, waste is monitored, packaging is recycled and biodiversity encouraged. Vegetables grown in developing countries are produced ethically and without exploitation.
