Farmers are increasing activities which improve greenhouse gas mitigation. 68% use nutrient management plans for fertilisers and manures, about 37% of managed land has been drained, more than half of livestock farms can store solid manure on a solid base, three quarters of livestock farms have a farm health plan, 79% use clover in their temporary grassland and 62% are using high sugar grasses, 44% use a ration formulation programme or expert advice for feeding livestock and 64% use bulls or rams with Estimated Breeding Values.
