Primary demand for red meats in the U.K.
An examination of the the farm-level demand for red meats and its effect on producer prices.
Year of Publication2000
This poster presents an analysis of farm-level demand for red meats in the UK through flexible differential inverse-demand system models. The model chosen was used to test for - but did not reveal - a significant BSE effect in 1996. Conclusions are drawn on cross-price flexibilities, price sensitivity to supply and substitution possibilities of pork, beef and lamb.
