UK rabbit meat market: is there potential to develop?
A study of consumer attitudes to rabbit meat and an assessment of its potential in the UK.
Year of Publication2011
Rabbit meat consumption and production in the UK are low despite the nutritional benefits of the meat and the efficiency of the rabbit as a producer of meat. The study concluded that there could be potential to develop a niche market for rabbit meat provided that attention is focused on production methods and appropriate marketing. Further detailed research is needed to substantiate these results.
