1440: Export Growth in the Farming, Food and Drink Sector
This paper has been taken from the report produced by Defra and other stakeholders, ‘Export Growth in the Farming, Food and Drink Sector - a Plan of Action’
Year of Publication2012
This Action Plan will drive export growth in the farming, food and drink sector by opening markets and removing trade barriers, building a business mindset of exporting, encouraging more SMEs to explore overseas opportunities, supporting those who already export to do more and shifting the focus towards emerging economies where there is the greatest future growth potential. Government and industry will work together to achieve this by lobbying for the removal of trade barriers, ensure that the right information and support is available, simplify food export paperwork, and strategically champion the UK’s reputation for outstanding farming, food and drink.
