1220: Batpods – monitoring bats along linear features
This paper is taken from an article on the ADAS A+ website
Year of Publication2011
Planning applications can necessitate maintaining and enhancing wildlife connectivity and commuting routes. ADAS consultants have developed a technique to determine how bats use hedgerows scheduled to be severed by a road scheme where traditional methods previously had limited success. This technique allowed them to determine directional movement of bats and inform mitigation strategies based on known activity along affected hedgerows.
