Since the publication of research which indicated that current testing of pesticides may not be picking up subtle changes in the behaviour of beneficial insects which are critical to their survival the Crop Protection Association and manufacturers Bayer have argued that the products properly-used should have no impact on bee populations. Also that the statutory controls on pesticide approval include an assessment of risk to bee health
