This new group boasts a goodly selection of parliamentarians in its membership and is backed by a number of eco-friendly pressure groups. Among key policies recommended is reducing Pillar 1 of CAP, capping payments to large farms, revising planning to encourage small scale agricultural buildings, introducing price guarantees, production quotas and export duties, strengthening competition law, introducing carbon and other green taxes, supporting smaller abattoirs, seed funding the development of networked farm advisory services and supporting greater public education and participation in the food chain.
