1354: Defra Food and Farming Brief
This paper is taken from a summary of Defra’s July farming and food brief which provides a general overview of news, economics and statistics relating to the UK’s farming and food industries.

Food price inflation in the year to June was 6.5%. Greatest price increases were for bread and cereals, meat, cheese and eggs. Food store sales fell by 4.2%, the greatest fall since records began. Fertiliser prices rose by 53.4% over the year. We produce 57% of our own vegetables and 12% of fruit.
