Climate change series: Focus on peas and beans
Factsheet 13 describes the opportunities and challenges presented to growers of peas and beans by climate change and suggests measures of adaptation and mitigation.
The effects of climate change are likely to become more extreme over time. Pea and bean growers are already noticing these effects: yields of vining peas have been reduced and other varieties may soon suffer. Climate change does, however, present opportunities as well as challenges but planning now to reduce cost, risk and concern in the future is crucial.
